Its colours are BLUE and GOLD. In the dexter (upper left) corner is the Union Flag which is composed of the Crosses of St. George, St Andrew and St. Patrick, symbolising unity and chivalry. The blue indicates loyalty and fidelity and the gold signifies service - "as gold is tried by fire". Many Colour Bearers are specially selected by the Branch Members for this important post of honour, but it is essential that the person selected should be strong and well able to handle the Standard under all conditions. COLOUR BEARING DISPLAY TEAM AND SILENT DRILL DISPLAY TEAM
The National Sports Committee have agreed to put together a National Colour Bearing Display and Silent Drill Display Team in the near future. Any member who wishes to be considered is requested to contact their Area Secretary or National Headquarters for further information.
